The type of curtains that you choose for a baby’s nursery should be well thought out during the creation stage of the room so that it is ready when the nursery is finished. There are some qualities to consider in the type of nursery curtains that you will choose.

First of all, we want the curtains to match the rest of the nursery, and probably the bedding accessories that you are using in the baby’s cot. It doesn’t necessarily have to be particularly fancy but you’d rather they suit the sex of the baby. Most people go with pink or shades of pink or purple for a girl and blue for a boy. The color and print you use are going to count for the curtains in the nursery.

Also a consideration will be the length of the curtains. They should be substantial enough to provide the necessary protection from the elements for your baby. They should be thick enough to keep the heat out in the summer and the warmth in during the winter.

The aspect of your nursery curtains that you won’t have to agonise too much over is the style of curtains. Sure they will have to suit your taste but it won’t be particularly vital that you choose eyelet curtains over tab topped curtains for example.
